A bit about the blog
I have been properly blogging for about 6 months now. Initially it was something I decided to do practice my writing. However, since then it has evolved and I have embraced the science blogging idea. I use the blog as a catalogue for thing I write for other publications as well.
Since this blog has begun I have been lucky enough to win a few awards for it:
PLoS One blog of the Month:
My post on what makes a scientifically good song was the PLoS One post of the month for February
Research Blogging Editor’s Selection:
Post on what science says you should talk about on dates was an editors selection on March 15th 2010
Post on a scientific experiment of whether putting your feet in vodka can get you drunk was an editors selection on May 25th 2010
Post on the evolution of amphitheatres was an editors selection on June 13th
Post on the neuroscience of OCD was an editors selection on June 14th
I hope that you enjoy reading the blog 🙂
Terrific blog. Glad I bumped on it while surfing freshly pressed! 🙂
Hi Ben
I’m a PhD student at Loughborough University. I found your name on the list of people who follow 23andme on Twitter, and followed a link in your profile to your blog. I was wondering if you’d be willing to fill in a survey for my PhD research, it’s for people who have either bought a genetic test from a company like 23andme, or are thinking of doing so.
There’s more information and a link to it at http://www-staff.lboro.ac.uk/~lsctre3/survey.html , it should only take about 10 minutes and would be really great if you could! If you have any questions then please email me at c.t.r.egglestone3@lboro.ac.uk
Thanks
Corin Egglestone
Hi Ben,
Loving the blog! I really enjoy your writing style.
There’s a new ‘crowd-sourced’ science magazine starting up and I wondered if you wanted to get involved or contribute?
If you’re interested – drop us an email and I can fill you in 🙂
